The Definition of SAW
Flux in AWS A5.17 Norm:
F ---- flux
7 ---- The minimum
tensile strength is 70lb/mm
6 ---- The minimum
tensile strength is 60lb/mm
A ---- The weldment
should not be postweld heat treatment
P ---- The weldment
should be postweld heat treatment (620℃ x 1h)
The letter and
figures behind A or P means temperature required of impact V-notch (AKV
27joules)

For Example:
F7A2: A flux combines
a wire to get a deposited metal. Minimum tensile strength of this
deposited metal is 70lb/mm, the weldment should not be postweld heat
treatment, and –29℃ should be required to get the minimum 27 joules of impact V-notch for the
test piece.
